Supervision with Dr. Ash

As a licensed clinical psychologist with over two decades of experience in mental health, I offer postdoctoral supervision grounded in clinical rigor, practical wisdom, and a deep commitment to professional growth. My goal is to create a supervision space that’s both intellectually challenging and emotionally supportive—where early career psychologists can deepen their clinical competence, hone their theoretical orientation, and cultivate their professional identity with confidence.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring therapists at every stage of development, including master’s trainees, doctoral interns, and postdocs. From directing trauma-informed school-based programs to overseeing multidisciplinary teams in high-intensity residential settings, I’ve trained clinicians working with complex and underserved populations. In my current role as Clinic Director at New Directions Mental Health, I supervise a large team of pre-licensed therapists and lead initiatives to strengthen the clinical culture of our practice. I understand the unique pressures and developmental needs of early career professionals—and I know how to support them without ever patronizing them.

My supervision approach integrates evidence-based interventions—including ACT and CBT—with a strong developmental and relational framework. I’m as interested in your clinical decision-making as I am in the nuance of your therapeutic presence. Whether you’re seeking to improve your diagnostic formulation, refine your use of theory in case conceptualization, or work through the inevitable personal reactions that arise in therapy, I offer honest feedback, collaborative problem-solving, and a steady presence rooted in lived clinical experience.

Supervision is not just a licensing requirement—it’s a vital part of becoming the psychologist you want to be. I welcome postdocs who are curious, conscientious, and committed to doing meaningful, ethical work. I especially enjoy working with those interested in trauma, neurodiversity, school-based or community mental health, and third-wave behavioral therapies.

If you’re looking for a seasoned supervisor who respects your autonomy, challenges your thinking, and genuinely cares about your development, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s talk about how I can support your growth as a clinician—and help you thrive in this demanding but deeply rewarding profession.
